Analysis, design & references

The Notion's structure
Gee, it's been some time hasn't it? No, I haven't forgotten about this project, far from it... What's going on? Well, for now some months, I'm more working on the music than on code as the coding part is already a nice working MVP.

I've put all my effort into building a complete specification for the mod, as if

Analysis: Replaying the game, in depth

In the summer of 2024, I had a really great time replaying the game in its whole. For the entirety of the project, I've been steadily filling in a big Notion documentation. For each chapter of the game, I've meticulously taken screenshots for all locations, taking notes of what's happening, when, and starting to understand the feelings provoked and the intensity of the action as the game goes by.

Design: What, when, why and how

Once done, I've compiled this photo-rally (as I call it) by chapter, and that's what's serving as a starting point to design the music. For each chapters' maps', I note the map's info, which actors, characters and locations are involved, the feelings provoked, and then what I associate these to : music genres and instruments.

A character can be associated to an instrument, a location to a music genre, etc. Everything evolves and gets thighten to better link the game's happenings and the music that goes with it.

References: What do I want my music to sound like?

Lastly, I've been listening to loads and loads of music, gathered references, found my sources of inspiration, and I've slowly but steadily curated a big Spotify playlist of music tracks of various genres, and classified them according to the chapter they are mostly associated to, in my mind.
